Ben Henan, 90, walks on a dirt road north of the VA Medical Center Tuesday morning in Cheyenne. Henan was raised in Fort Washakie and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He watched the Battle of the Coral Sea from the deck of his transport ship and was wounded during the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942. "Wyoming is the greatest place on earth and I like how the wind blows away the snow here in Cheyenne." said Henan. He also attributes his longevity to a daily walk. To participate in WTE Photo Editor Michael Smith's 2014 Our Faces: Portraits of Laramie County project, call to make an appointment at 633-3124 or 630-8388 or email msmith@wyomingnews.com.
